Ashmi: As I already mentioned in my comments above, my intention wasn’t to necessarily show the good or bad side, neither do I think of that pic in that way. But yes, it is upto people how they percieve this picture

hmm, well wont deny that the pic is quite thought provoking asa most of ur blogs are, but on a serious note dont u think that most part of the world has this similar kinda imbalance???? n y r u seeing the bleaker side of it n turning a blind eye to the brighter side of it??? no hard feelings, dude :)…thts whts i feel:)

Guns: This is one of the Delhi suburbs. These scenes are commonplace in Delhi now, because of the rate at which it is expanding. This is quite a serene pic, compared to some of the stuff of garbage dumps and overflowing sewage nallahs I have.
My intention of showing this pic was somewhat different though and I’ve mentioned that in the comments above.

SS: What I wanted to show through the picture was the disparity among the masses and the difference in lifestyles. I believe the guys living in that hut, looking after the buffalo are as happy, if not more, as guys in those high rise buildings. But yes, its quite a contrast. Yes, you right when you say that half the people seem to be living in a different age. I guess it has its positives and negatives.

Suyog: A bit of both. These bamboo sticks which are used as the scaffolding are not longer than a floor or too. So they keep attaching more and more as they go along. Apart from that the sticks themselves are not always straight and can be a bit curvy. Consequently they appear ‘wavy’. However, not as wavy as they are in reality. So there is a bit of an optical illusion involved too I should submit a paper on this

Where did you take this photo?
Scenes like these are all in abundance in Pune. The way Pune is growing now, its sad to stand on the terrace of E-square (a posh multiplex) and look down into the condstruction workers’ shanties below it. Makes me ask what these people have done to deserve a fate like that.

Great pic! And is that optical illusion or those wooden support outside constructions are not wavy
