By the time it finished in the afternoon I was feeling too lazy to do anything at all. So I generally rolled over and dozed off most of the day. On a positive note though, Sri Lanka beat Australia by winning the first of the three VB series ODI's. I'm almost certain that Australia will win the next two but, Australia getting beaten this often is a great thing for world cricket in general. They are no longer the same force they used to be, or perhaps other teams have caught up with them.
Inzimamul Haq baffled me. I must say I lost a lot of respect for the guy. He was one guy who was a likeable character in the Pak team, but his behavior left many wondering. The main object of the fielding team is to get a batsman out. So, obviously they would appeal. And obviously ball handling and obstructing a fielder's throw which is aimed at your stumps, hitting the ball away by swinging your bat no less, is not allowed. Inzi, if you behave stupidly and get out its *not* the fault of the opposition. Countless press conferences and constant whining about how you should not have been given out and how “undignified†the Indian team behaved only asserts that stupidity. I didn't expect Inzi to be so foolish and immature. One shudders to think what might have happened if Pakistan actually lost the match. Gavaskar said it very well when he recounted one episode years ago when Tendulkar was obstructed while running on the pitch, in such a way that he fell to the ground, while someone ran him out and the whole Paki team was happy to see the back of him. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
In other unrelated startling news, Mayawati today announced the broadband through trees program. The subscribers, mainly in the region of Dev Prayag, will connect their keyboards directly to the tree and start typing. Their keystrokes will be recorded by messaging monkeys and they will then execute their commands. These are highly skilled technical monkeys who have been deployed all over Dev Prayag. Monkeys from one tree communicate with other monkeys in a nearby tree thus passing the message on, before it reaches the intended person sitting under a similar tree. The monkey then conveys the message to the person through various hand signals and dance movements - no need for monitors. Apparently this is 5 times faster than the average Indian broadband. It is also thought that Monkey Mail will soon replace eMail in the whole of Uttar Pradesh.

Well I would be upset too if someone will call me ‘aloo aloo’ but his constant whining about the whole incident is pretty pathetic. He has changed a lot since he became captain. May be it is the stress that every pakistani captain has to go through especially when they r playing against India. He looks very tired also most of the time.
