<description>SS: According to me, the first rule of blogging is start writing whatever you feel like, without bothering about how you write or who reads it. Just do it for yourself. Of course, with time people might really appreciate it and you might have your own audience or fans. You could then start writing for them too, or write with keeping them in mind. However, I feel this is where most bloggers faulter.

In any case, there's no harm in sharing your thoughts and experiences with others. (unless they are extremely controversial, rude or hurtful towards others :P )

<description>You r right I may never start my blog but you r also wrong cos I am not one of those who think about it but dont do it - I dont even think abt it ;) I have never been great at writing unless I am really upset or sad about something. Now there is no point creating a blog full of angry and sad posts. Wont you agree? :)

<description>Hmm.. what can I say except, your relatives probably REALLY like cows ! :P

In a way one can understand them. I dont think its they finding them fascinating or it being a rare animals (there are farms all over the countryside in these parts with millions of cows).. Its simply about clicking a picture you dont get to click that often! ;)

		<description>Hmmm...

Not really.. I've recently been a driver to most of the people visiting India after a gap of few years.. and they just cannot stop themselves from clicking a cow's picture whenever they spot one..

They've spent more than half their life in India and in the same street and still spotting a cow was an adventure in itself for them!

"YOU" could be an exception to that! :P But in general, people visiting India are fascinated by cows and rickshaws! I don't know why! :P

I must demand a 7 month driver's salary from them for driving them around while I could very well be doing something more "constructive" like.. doing "nothing"!!! :P :P

hehehe..

<description>Nirwa: I disagree with your cow comment. Ok it might apply to ABCDs or BBCDs - people who were born abroad and never really seen/lived in India. Same applies to foreigners. But for people living in other countries, who were born in India, lived most of their life in India and visit ever so often, a COW is not exactly a novelty!! Wont you agree? :)

For me the COW is just another animal.. just like the CAMEL on the post &lt;a href="http://life.thelastjedi.net/2006/02/15/day-3/" rel="nofollow"&gt;Day 3&lt;/a&gt;. And by the way, how sure are you that this is a cow ? (prize question)

So you apply the same tactic of slow eating! Great.

<description>SS: I completely agree with you! Perhaps, we could feel slightly different about it if we lived in a place with a huge Indian community and people of all ages. Even then it would be difficult to re-create the same atmosphere.
By now I've given up on the hopes of you ever starting your own blog. I feel you are one of those people who think a lot but do very little :p
Long time no comment.. Welcome!

		<description>COW!!

It is the ultimate NRI picture!! Maybe because they don't see cows peeing and eating plastic bags on the streets in their country!!

Yes, eating slower than the host works many times.. I've done that so many times when I visit relatives.. :P

Looks like the Jedi has come out of the slumber! :P

<description>Home is where heart is. I hate so many things about India specially the deep routed, low level corruption but still its home. No matter what every year I go home and it re-energises me. Living in west feels like living in a hotel. Its better than home but its not home. Even though as time is passing i am getting more comfortable with my life here but I truly feel alive when i go home.

Yes I share ur experience with relatives. You just cant make them happy. Most of relatives live quite far off so I cant visit them all each time. Problem is those I cant visit are obviously unhappy but those i visit always say, "mazaa nahi aaya. tumhe ek baar aur chakkar lagana parega". As for food well in my case, after feeding me three days food in one go (i know i m exagerating but it feels like so), they even pack stuff to take with me. I feel helpless as I know they r just trying to show their love.

Jedi your posts on ur visit make me feel nostalgic. Perhaps next time when i visit home I will jot down my experience too or may be i will just copy paste ur posts ;)
