Not much is happening. For the first time in a long time I feel real lazy. Perhaps I am beginning to enjoy my holiday already, perhaps it's the laid back attitude of the people that surround me. In any case, I'm not complaining. Decided to do a bit of early shopping - what a mad rush?! People stepping on your toes, vehicles parked in the middle of the roads, crowds gathering around places for no apparent reason, hawkers using your ears as the mouthpiece.. Aaargh! Not so relaxed any more eh? But I guess, just like everything else, this will also take a couple of days of getting used to.

Now, I must admit that I've seen various animals in the past around the busy shopping district. Some fulfilling their various roles and some just chilling out! Cows, buffaloes, horses, elephants, stray dogs etc is commonplace but I'd never before seen a camel. Not in these parts anyway. A closer inspection revealed that it had been employed by India's uber-cool booming multi million dollar ad agencies. And why not? It makes perfect sense. They're so umm.. visible among the crowds. It would probably make even more sense using a giraffe, but I guess that might be illegal. Endangered species and what not! Also the Kenyans might not like it. What do we care about the Kenyans you might ask. But we do. We care about almost every insignificant little thing that happens in the world, unless it is happening in our own backyards. If tomorrow someone came up to our Govt officials with the news that some tribe in Papua New Guinea is not happy with some internal policy of ours, they would do absolutely everything in their power to do something in this regard and please them. Anyway, I digress. I can think of one more reason why giraffes might be impractical, especially around say places like Chandni Chowk. In places, like that the shops are on the ground or first floors, but you have actual houses with people living in them on the top floors. Imagine you strolled in to your kitchen for an afternoon cup of tea and found a moving giraffe's head in it. It already drank all your milk and ate your pie and is now licking your dried tea leaves.. probably thinking “Poor humans. At least I get to eat fresh leaves!” Anyhow, enough about the giraffe for a while.

Spent the evening watching Big B's Deewar. Not the old, but the new one about our POWs languishing in Pak jails. I won't spend money to watch it on the big screen, but nonetheless Ok to watch it on TV. Of course, its real stupid in parts. Like the son who has no military/combat experience going to Pak alone to rescue his Dad and bring him back. Even John J Rambo would have thought twice. The performances are good enough though. Big B himself is brilliant I thought. Kay Kay's role is a complete waste.

I find I have already given in to road rage. Jeez! Only took a day. But these are still just the practice laps for my Moto GP. I must say all this honking is irritating me. This is one thing that really takes some time to get used to every year - unless you live in New York!
